IZZY & LIV  is an e-commerce  boutique on a mission to provide women of color with life and style designs that are a representation of themselves.  To accompany its e-commerce operations, Izzy & Liv launched the Stuff We *Heart* Blog to build community and improve SEO.


The Stuff We *Heart* Blog serves stories for and by black women. As the Content Manager, I nurtured the intersection between editorial and e-commerce by editorial planning, creating content, managing a team of brilliant writers, and enhancing SEO optimization.

In April 2017, Izzy & Liv launched a monthly subscription box, delivering the best of the boutique to doorsteps every month. Each month, I oversaw a mini magazine that includes content exclusive to Brown Sugar Box subscribers, featured articles, and customer appreciation.

Marketers will tell you that copy is about selling the product, which it is, to an extent. I believe that good copy is about the feelings it invokes. For the girlfriend-like Izzy & Liv community, we strove for copy that sounded like a conversation amongst friends and incorporated the fun, soulful tone of the Izzy & Liv brand. As the Brown Sugar Box copywriter, I created copy for products and promotions our community can relate to.
